This winter, Dutch menstrual cup company, Phia, will be launching their innovative menstrual cup, Phia Cup. Featuring many unique features, inserting & removing a cup has never been so effortless. Okoa Cup is locally made in the Netherlands with medical-grade silicone.

Sophia Peterson, Phia founder, is originally from the United States and came to the Netherlands through the Netherlands startup visa program to work with the facilitator Campus Groningen. Campus Groningen is the place for innovation, research and entrepreneurship. It is the fastest growing Campus in the Netherlands with more than 200 companies, 3 knowledge institutes and about 50.000 students.

Perfect match

"As Campus Groningen we are very happy with the ‘match’ from Start-up Visa with Phia. Sophia is a very driven entrepreneur and has a revolutionary product , made from advanced materials and suits perfectly within the Campus Groningen ecosystem", says Ronald Hesse, Business Developer at Campus Groningen.

Phia Cup is the first uniquely designed menstrual cup from the Netherlands and brings variety to the Dutch market. Phia aims to make a positive impact by providing environmentally-friendly, easy to use, modern period products.

Innovative design

The traditional bell-shaped cups can be difficult to use and have a learning curve for new users. Phia Cup's unique features (shown in the image below) make it easy for tampon users to make the switch.
